An interactive game and grooming contest using model dogs that allow groomers to demonstrate their skills at navigating common and uncommon scenarios one may encounter in an everyday grooming shop. This fun and interactive competition will challenge the grooming competitors based on randomly drawn challenge cards. The interactive challenges will not be revealed before the contest begins.
Contest Time Limit: 2:30 hours
Divisions: Open to all competitors at any level.
Special Note: Electric will NOT be provided in the contest ring. You must supply your own cordless clippers and equipment.
Contest Entry Fee: $40.00
Contest maximum: 70 contestants
Acceptable breeds/trims: Any model dog breed in any purebred trim or freestyle design.
General Rules: All contestants must purchase and provide their own model dog to be used in the contest. Any breed and any color model dog is allowed. Contestants can choose any purebred or freestyle trim, but they must adhere to the interactive “challenges” during the contest time frame or face elimination. The model dogs must be fully assembled before the contest time frame begins. The model dogs are allowed to be brushed out before the contest time frame begins. All grooming, scissoring and styling must be done within the contest time frame. No added color or dyes, add-ons, hair extensions, or accessories to the model dog are allowed. Hair sprays, finishing sprays, and gels may be applied during the competition time frame. Once the contest finish time is called, sprays are limited to minor applications and reshaping is prohibited.
Judging: Judges are to confirm that no styling work has been done to any model dog before the contest start time is announced.
